-1214-
You are part of an experiment in an unknown science facility.
Also known as subject 1214, nothing is certain about 1214's past or future.
Until a scientist releases him.

Now he needs to find the scientist to learn about his true purpose.

5 playable maps(levels)
Gameplay can get very hard in some places. Listen to the sounds around you carefully (especially in level 2)
I kept the story short because there will be 5 more maps to continue the story. So the game ends when you get the 1214_6.bsp not found error.
Extract all the files in to your hl2d folder. (.h2d file included)
And have fun :)

1214 is designed for Flat-Life. (thanks to Chickenfist for an awesome mod)
Also thanks to MuzzleFlash for hosting.

A little Walkthrough for the 2nd stage:
To get pass the guard in front of the computer. Wait for him to type something on the computer first. When he is typing, he wont be looking back for a while. Then dash behind the screen. Wait for the guard's conversation to end. Then he will walk up to you. After that wait for the computer guy to type something again then dash back to the box and hide behind. When the guard leaves the room. Wait for the computer guy again to type something again. (loop) Then push the box and jump over the lasers.

This is really really good! The mapping quality is top-notch! Why don't you make some DM maps in this theme? Especially the water tunnel part of the map.

Overall, brilliantly made, great variety of obstacles and traps.

However there are a few parts I didn't really understand, like the last map doesn't seem to have an ending to it, not even a "The End" or "To Be Continued" Also, I had trouble jumping over the barrels in that last map as well. (Do a barrel roll!)

I give it five stars. Although the mapping is probably the best I've seen for Flat-Life, I think Flat-Life needs yet another update.

Haha do a barrel roll! = P (i haven't herd that in a while)

I thought i was having major performance issues (seeing hom on the whole right side of the map, and then i bothered to read the readme and i see this is for HL2d!

So even noclipping/godmoding through the levels in normal Half-Life, let me say these maps contains a confluence of detail, doodads, various effects and creativity to a level that i rarely ever see. (See definition: Wow Factor.)

If you ever make a normal map version of this, that could be amazing. Those stasis chamebers, the cogs and machinery, the HL2-style tv screens, textures, just everything was top notch, even playing it in the wrong damn mod like i did! = O

5 stars, period.

(i'll try to re-review when i play it in hl2d, though i must say i don't have the patience that much with that mod (though it is very cool , so no offence chickenfist!)

What they said, yeah. The level of detail in these maps is really amazing.

And Rimrook, lrn2read:

"I kept the story short because there will be 5 more maps to continue the story. So the game ends when you get the 1214_6.bsp not found error."

:P

Thanks for the nice comments.
Rimrook is right, I actually wanted to add the 1214_6.bsp later in another map pack (with the other levels). But the game should have an ending.
So I updated the .zip.
*Fixed a mapping error in 1214_1 (a texture didnt emit light)
*Added an ending for the 5th level.(now the game ends when you enter the door)

Wow, I loved it. The detail, architecture, texturing and overall visuals were absolutely jaw-dropping.

I loved the huge variety of scenery, even for a mappack this short. All those mobile parts, plus ambience really made everything feel 'alive', not to mention real.
My fav. part was that X-Ray chamber. Absolutely beautiful and creative - I loved it.

This, with all the careful work and attention, really felt like taken from some of the old platformers.

My only complaint would be that the gameplay was really way too hard in some places. Take that underwater section with those fans & explosive barrels. Took me a good 15 tries to pass it, due to the fact that the barrels explode/fans suck you in if you come like 2 meters near em'. :<
Also, the last level had far too many enemies/obstacles, imo. Dealing with that many barnies and barrels at once without enough healthkits was too hard for this pansy.
I've run into a bug, too, where if you save after having left the X-Ray tube and quickload afterwards, you still see your skeleton, not yourself.

Overall - a charming little experience. I wanted to give it 4* for difficulty issues, but what the hell - it's just way too polished/beautiful to deserve anything lower than 5*. ;>
